News Report : Improvement in Alopecia Areata After Visiting Dr. Shih-Tzu Tseng
A 35-year-old man began experiencing widespread hair loss in June of this year. Upon seeking medical attention, he discovered he had two patches of alopecia areata, commonly known as “ghost shaving,” which exacerbated his anxiety. After consulting Dr. Shih-Tzu Tseng, he underwent treatment involving oral medications and nutritional supplements, combined with a hair regrowth therapy, which led to an improvement in his symptoms. Dr. Tseng emphasized that the causes of hair loss are complex and must be identified for effective treatment.
Dr. Shih-Tzu Tseng from Rui’an Dermatology Clinic in Taichung noted that the patient reported high stress due to job instability and poor sleep. He became very concerned after noticing significant hair loss when lightly scratching his head. Dr. Tseng conducted a blood test to rule out internal medical issues and determined that the primary cause was stress and lifestyle factors. The treatment involved oral medication and injections aimed at promoting hair growth, which gradually improved the patient’s condition.
