Injectables in Taichung

Hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, botulinum toxin and collagen stimulators. They differ in support, how fast they break down and which areas they suit, so the doctor assesses first.

In brief: Injectable treatment at Taichung Ruianc Clinic is at No. 946, Fuke Rd., Xitun District. Fillers such as hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite address hollows at the tear troughs, nasolabial folds, cheeks and contour; botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles that create dynamic lines; collagen stimulators improve support and texture by prompting your own collagen, with a gradual change. The same area often has several possible materials, differing in firmness, feel and duration. Allergy history, medication and contraindications are checked before treatment, and areas near blood vessels in particular need a doctor familiar with the anatomy. Response and duration vary from person to person.
CONDITIONS

Common Reasons for Injectables

Different concerns call for different materials and depths. These six are what we treat most often.

Tear Troughs and Under-Eye Hollows

Hollowing under the eyes that reads as tiredness. The skin here is thin and the area rich in vessels, so both material and depth need particular care.

Tear troughsUnder-eye shadowMid-face hollowing

Dynamic Lines

Forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet from the muscles of expression, softened with botulinum toxin. Dose and placement affect how natural expression looks.

Contour and Definition

A receding chin, the line of the nose or flat cheeks. The whole face needs assessing before deciding where and how much to add.

Nasolabial Folds and Mouth Corners

These usually come from both volume loss and reduced support, so filling and lifting need to be considered together.

Overall Texture and Support

Not a single hollow, but skin that looks loose and lacks radiance. Usually addressed with collagen stimulators over several sessions, with a gradual change.

Masseter and Jaw Width

A wide lower face from a bulky masseter can be adjusted with botulinum toxin. The effect fades over time and needs repeating.

WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR

Before You Book

Injection is an invasive procedure and the indications need checking. Below is what suits a consultation and what should wait.

Worth a Consultation

  • You know the area you want to change and want to compare materials
  • You have had injections before but the result was not what you expected
  • You want to know the recovery time and duration before deciding

Wait and Deal With These First

  • The area has a wound, inflammation or an active infection
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, or medication affecting clotting
  • A previous allergic or adverse reaction to an injected material
  • Dental work or another invasive procedure planned soon
  • A history of neuromuscular disease, where botulinum toxin is concerned

The above is general health information and does not replace an in-person consultation; indications and contraindications require assessment by a qualified doctor.

Calcium hydroxylapatiteContour needing firmer support, such as chin and noseVisible right awayFirmer and more structured, so fewer areas suit it; the doctor decides where it is appropriate
Botulinum toxinDynamic lines, masseter, local contourOver a few days to two weeksThe effect fades and needs repeating; a history of neuromuscular disease needs assessing first
Collagen stimulatorsOverall texture and lack of supportGradually over weeks to monthsGiven in several sessions and the change is not immediate; aftercare and massage affect the result

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat is the difference between hyaluronic acid and a collagen stimulator?

Hyaluronic acid fills volume directly and shows straight away. A collagen stimulator prompts your own collagen, so the change is gradual, usually over weeks to months, and given in several sessions. They address different things on different timescales.

QWill I swell or bruise?

It is possible, and how much depends on the area, the material and you. Around the eyes and lips is more prone to it, and most settles within a few days. The doctor explains the recovery and aftercare beforehand.

QHow long does it last?

It depends on the material, the area and your metabolism, usually somewhere between several months and a year or more, with botulinum toxin fading gradually. It varies from person to person.

QWill botulinum toxin make my face look stiff?

That comes down to dose and placement. We adjust to your expressions and muscle strength, aiming to reduce lines while keeping expression natural, and the first treatment is usually conservative.

QCan several areas be treated at once?

A common approach is to work through them in order of priority, though some areas do suit being done together. The doctor decides based on the assessment and whether aftercare can be managed.

QDo I need to book in advance?

Booking is recommended. Phone and LINE bookings open 30 days before the clinic day and you can choose the doctor and time slot; walk-ins are also accepted, with the last registration at 20:45.
